Entertainment in Zhuhai, Hong Kong and Macau

Traveling in Zhuhai

Bar Street
There are many bars on “bar street” (Jiuba Jie), a 20 minute walk from the Gongbei border. These are generally expensive (¥20 to ¥30 for beer), but may be worthwhile if you crave Western food or live music.

Golf
There are several golf clubs in Zhuhai, Zhuhai Golf Villa, Golden Golf Club, Lake Wood Golf Club, Orient Golf Club etc. Zhuhai Golf Villa and Lake Wood Golf Club are just a few minutes from the venue of Remax Asia Pacific.

Hot Spring Resorts
Zhuhai is famous for its hot spring resorts. Ocean Spring Resort and Yuwenquan Hot Spring Resort are worth a visit.

Motorsports
Zhuhai International Circuit is very near to Zhuhai Southern Software Park, the venue of Remax Asia Pacific. There you can: Watch and enjoy the atmosphere of international auto and motorcycle racing, receive expert instruction and spend a half hour on the actual race course in a formula 1 car for $1500 HKD, and rent go-carts and motorcycles for use on a separate track.

Hong Kong
Hong Kong is still known as an excellent destination for shopping, especially of goods from the Mainland. Prices are comparably cheaper than Europe, North America, or Japan, especially since Hong Kong has no sales tax (VAT). Although Hong Kong prices are still expensive by regional standards, the choice and variety is a lot better than in most south-east Asian countries. Popular shopping items include consumer electronics, custom clothing, shoes, jewellery, expensive brand name goods, Chinese antiques, toys and Chinese herbs/medicine.

Hong Kong Island and nearby Tsim Sha Tsiu have the upmarket shopping malls (particularly near Central and Causeway Bay), while Kowloon is the place to go for cheap open markets. Kowloon's Nathan Road has many shops selling electronics, cameras and gadgets.  Please click here to see more.

Macau
Macau is known as the “Oriental Las Vegas”. Gambling is Macau's biggest industry and busloads arrive daily to try their luck. For many years, the Casino Lisboa was the most famous and a landmark well known to people outside Macau, but it is being eclipsed by Sands Casino which opened in 2004.  At the moment, there are more than 26 casinos in operation. Most casinos are located along the waterfront on the southern side of Macau Peninsula. North of the Lisboa is a strip with many smaller casinos, a number of hotels and bars, and quite a few restaurants. This can be one of the more interesting areas of Macau; among other things it has quite a good Indian restaurant and several Portuguese ones. New casinos have also opened in the area called NAPE south of Avenida de Amizade, including Wynn Macau and Sands Macau.
All this is going to be overtaken by the new development on the Cotai Strip, which is being made into "The Las Vegas Strip of the East". The Venetian Macao started operations here in August 2007 and many others will follow. There are also several casinos on Taipa, including the Crown Macau.
There are ATM machines available at either casino as well as forex facilities to change your money. Gamblers are required to be at least 18 years of age to be allowed to play. Interestingly, local civil servants are not allowed to enter the casinos with the exception of the first three days of the Chinese New Year.
