Remax Asia Pacific launch successful

In late June, 3533 visitors from 48 countries around the world visited Remax Asia Pacific 2007 in Zhuhai, China – the centre of the imaging industry. The Remax week activities actually kicked off on June 26 with the reception given by the Deputy Mayor of Zhuhai to Mr. David Connett and all the guest speakers of Premax Conference. Zhuhai’s local government has repeatedly stated that it will give strong support to Remax Asia Pacific and to the development of the imaging industry. In response, David Connett, Managing Director of Recycler Publishing & Events, said: “In five years’ time, Remax Asia Pacific will be one of the largest and best trade show for this industry in the world.”

Around 200 local and international delegates attended the Premax Conference to listen to the ten speakers who shared their views on different issues in the industry. This Premax Conference was sponsored by Afex.

Remax Asia Pacific also brought the tradition of the gala dinner from Remax Europe to China. Some Chinese characteristics were added with the unique Chinese performance. The Remax Gala Charity Night was held in aid of the Chinese Red Cross Foundation to raise funds for children with leukaemia. Ninestar was the sponsor of this event and donated 1 million RMB to the Ninestar Angel of Love Fund. A total of 1.88 million RMB was raised at the Gala Dinner.

The grand opening ceremony of Remax Asia Pacific was full of Chinese flavour. Mr David Connett, the Deputy Mayor of Zhuhai Mr. Chen Honghui, the Secretary General of CCIA Ms. Li Ping, the Chairman of CCPIT Mr. Zhong Jinlai and Mr. Arnald Ho, Mr. Jackson Wang, Mr. Steve Weedon and Mr. Sun Ronghua cut the ribbons and two Chinese ceremonial lions opened the door of the exhibition hall.

On the first day of the show, 1823 visitors visited the trade show. Peter White from Printchip said, “I’ve finished what I needed to do at the show on the first day.” Bob Schmidt from Static Control told us, “Our experience at Remax Asia Pacific 2007 has been very successful.” Jackson Wang, President of Ninestar, commented: “I’m very happy that Remax Asia Pacific chose Zhuhai. This is a remarkable first show. We have many enquiries about laser cartridges this time.”

The Print-Rite Innovation Awards were another attraction during the trade show. Ten winners were announced and presented with awards. These winners were picked out from over 700 pieces of work with a strict process.
The Staples Sourcing Meeting was the first of its kind held in a trade show in the industry. Recycler helped to arrange meetings between Staples and 8 different manufacturers. Tina Yang, Senior Sourcing Specialist, said “This form of meeting is really efficient. We can get to know about the latest information about the industry immediately.”
“The happiest thing for us is that our exhibitors reached their targets in the tradeshow. We appreciate their support to us. By the end of this year’s trade show, most of the exhibitors this year have reserved their booth for next year and enlarged the size of their booth. And a number of companies visiting the show also reserved their booths for Remax Asia Pacific 2008. Well, see you all in 2008.” said Mr. Tony Lee, General Manager of Recycler China.
